In 2006, Western Williamson County had approximately 350,000 residents, five high schools and a community college. What Williamson County did not have was a pregnancy resource center.
Residents recognized the deficiency and began offering petitions. Within months, the Hope Connections Pregnancy Resource Center, now known as Austin Life Care Northwest, garnered enough community and financial support to secure a location. Shortly thereafter – August 1, 2007 to be exact – Austin Life Care, (Hope Connections) opened the doors. It’s not uncommon for new centers to be without clients for a few months. But the need here was evident; Leander’s center had clients before we ever opened our doors.
The Center’s quick opening and early success is a testament to the realization of the great need to help others in this community. Everything from building materials to office equipment and furniture was either donated or provided at steep discounts. Austin Life Care Northwest is here to offer help, hope, and healing at a time when women may feel the most vulnerable. All of our services are free and completely confidential. We offer opportunities to prepare women (and their families) physically, emotionally, and spiritually for the birth of their child. In addition, we serve families who have babies under one year old who are in need.
With every client we offer support and classes to improve the baby experience from early pregnancy to the birth and until the baby reaches one year old.
